Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
Melissa Gummo, APRN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Melissa Gummo, APRN, MSN, PMHNP-BC was born and raised in Southern California. She went to the University of California, Riverside and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. After completing her undergraduate degrees, she went on to California State University, San Marcos and graduated in 2010 from an accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing for those who had other BA/BS degrees. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in the minor and adult male population at the AZ Department of Corrections, Tucson complex, worked as a case manager for in-home hospice in Cochise County, at two different Level 1 Geriatric and adult inpatient psychiatric units in Tucson as well as in-patient hospice in Tucson. She graduated in early 2023 from Walden University with a Masters of Science in Nursing with a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner concentration and passed her boards in April. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and gardening.

Melissa is now available to see patients at UCHC at Old Vail Middle School.
