Charles Swetnam, MD, is originally from Moberly, Missouri. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He then went on to the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara’s Medical School where he graduated as a Medical Doctor (MD). Charles completed his residency in Family Practice from the University of Miami in 1974. He moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where he practiced medicine for 37 years, after which he retired and moved to Tubac, Arizona.

Before becoming part of the United Community Health Center team, he worked part-time at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Clinic. Charles is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and has served as a Board Member for MICA liability company from 1999-2020 when he retired from the Board. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and the guitar.
