Brenda Parnell, originally from New England by way of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, settled in Tucson, AZ after 26 years of healthcare finance experience. She was extensive healthcare finance experience in rural critical access and large statewide healthcare systems, rural and specialty clinics, federally qualified healthcare centers, and large native organizations in Alaska, Pacific Northwest, and Arizona. Her role in most healthcare organizations has been Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance; and, in several facilities, the dual role of Corporate Compliance Officer. 

She has been a national, regional, and state Malcolm Baldrige examiner and co-founded the Malcolm Baldrige program in Alaska. She currently serves on the Southwestern Alliance for Excellence as an active Board member. She has a Master’s in Business Administration – Healthcare through the University of Colorado-Denver, certification in Healthcare Corporate Compliance through the University of Washington-Settle, and certification for Internal Auditing. She served as an International Delegate through the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has spoken internationally on healthcare compliance policy and COSO internal control modeling.
