Dr. John Sparks
Dr. John Sparks is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 6 years of clinical experience providing comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma‑related conditions, and other mood and personality disorders, offering thoughtful medication management alongside evidence‑based therapeutic approaches such as CBT and motivational interviewing.
Dr. Sparks earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Arizona and also holds a Psycyatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) credential. He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the University of Arizona College of Nursing, where he helps educate future psychiatric nurse practitioners, while also caring for patients in the Green Valley and greater Southern Arizona community.
Known for his kind, direct, and empowering approach, Dr. Sparks believes in clear communication and collaborative decision‑making so patients feel informed, respected, and confident in their care. He is passionate about building long‑term therapeutic relationships that support both mental and overall well‑being. Dr. Sparks provides care in English and Spanish and enjoys serving a diverse patient population through compassionate, patient‑centered treatment.
