Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
Georgette Mehalik

Georgette Mehalik, PNP, brings over four decades of pediatric experience to United Community Health Center. She has served as a Pediatric Nurse for 44 years and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 38 of those years, dedicating her career to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care to underserved populations. Her journey began at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, caring for critically ill children, including Haitian refugee infants during a time of political crisis—an experience that deeply shaped her commitment to serving vulnerable communities.

Georgette has worked in a variety of pediatric settings across the country, including rural health clinics in New Hampshire and specialized care at Banner Health for children with autoimmune encephalitis. She holds additional certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist and is passionate about integrating mental health into pediatric care. Since joining UCHC in 2023, she has valued the organization’s personal, patient-centered approach and its mission to serve with heart.

Outside of work, Georgette is an avid conservationist and gardener. She is actively involved in local environmental efforts through the Arizona Native Plant Society and Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society. She also enjoys cooking, entertaining, and remodeling her fixer upper home.
